Most door contacts operate using a transmitter affixed to the wall or door frame and a magnet stuck on to the top of the door itself. These operate by sending signals when the magnet separates from the transmitter. The downside to this method is that often times the magnets come loose throughout the life of a system and start to cause faulty alarm signals. Our door contacts are installed using either a plunger drilled directly into your door frame or magnets drilled into the door itself. This helps eliminate the potential for false signals being sent by poorly placed magnets and provides a more robust security solution for you and your family!
